At about 9am Tuesday 9th Sept I launched the Romeo and Juliet Kickstarter, and I'm delighted to note that, in its first 45 minutes, it's up to £176. I shall be monitoring this progress closely.
10:04 - £272
10:27 - £399
1pm - £487
1:45 - £677
2:21 - email tells me we've passed the £750 goal
5:20 - £858
8pm - £1112
Bedtime Tuesday - £1135
First thing Wednesday - still £1135
Fri 12 Sept - up to £1214
Sat 13 Sept - £1237
Sun 14 Sept - £1254
Fri 19 Sept - £1326
Sun 28 Sept - £1453 - then to £1659. This seems to be the result of me talking to people at The Lakes about the project. Dammit, should have mentioned it to more people.
Tues 30 Sept - £1786
Thurs 2 Oct - £1835
Sat 4 Oct - £1960
Sun 5 Oct - £1983
Tues 7 Oct - £2110
Thurs 9 Oct - Kickstarter closes on £2189!
We end up £9 short of Midsummer Nights Dream Team, and over £350 short of Richard The Third, which is a shame (but we're well ahead of Findlay Macbeth and Prince Of Denmark Street). I fear that the failing in social media over the last two years has played a part in this. You just can't reach new people through Facebook, and Twitter is a basket case. So let's just say my audience has become more selective. Whatever, it enables me to put the book out, and that's a good thing.
Fri Oct 10 - it’s gone up to £2208. I allow people still to order copies, so that’s a nice bonus. This means it’s second only to Richard.
Before I start panicking that funding has stalled, I have to remind myself that this happens every single time. Here's the graph for Richard The Third, three years ago. On the first day it gets up to £1201 (which we haven't quite matched yet [written Tues 9th, passed on Fri 12th], but still don't panic) then it's a very slow trickle for the rest of the month, until you get a burst in the final week that takes you to a worthwhile total. We hope.
Hi folks, I'm happy to announce the Kickstarter campaign for my new graphic novel Romeo & Juliet (Shakespeare for fans of Dogman & Bunny vs Monkey) is now live.

I'm offering supporters the chance to appear in the book itself, in the party scene where Romeo and Juliet meet, as well as other fun treats. The book aims to launch at Thought Bubble in November. Do please jump on board if you can, thanks in anticipation.
