Art Spiegelman's Maus and me

This afternoon BBC Radio 4's Bookclub features James Naughtie interviewing Art Spiegelman about his graphic novel Maus. Which brought to mind this treat from the video vaults. It's me, with James Naughtie again alongside Kevin Day, Mariella Frostrup and Steve Bell, talking about Maus on BBC Four's Battle Of The Books. Enjoy.

Battle Of The Books pitched one literary work against another (in a format not entirely dissimilar to The Sitcom Trials), with two representatives speaking up for each. In this show Maus was up against Schindler's Ark, defended by Beattie Reubens and Melanie Phillips. It's a pyrrhic victory to report, but our holocaust memoir beat their holocaust memoir.

As always I'm available to pontificate about comics and comedy on TV and radio, you know where to find me.
