Mum's 80th Birthday

This is Mum singing a number called Big Bertha, ostensibly about a golf club but we think there might be a double entendre there somewhere, at her 80th birthday party at Kibworth Golf Club on December 20th. And we were there.

Mum & Hev looking a million dollars, before setting off for the do. It was an afternoon tea at the golf club, and originally we weren't going to go, leaving it to Mum and her "ladies". But we decided it was worth it, and so did Jude and the girls, so we descended on Kibworth for two nights and a splendid time was had by all.

Oh yes, I had a hand in the decoration on the top of the cake. But now, I have to say, the placing of the candles. That was done by the caterers at the gold club whose expertise is well summed up by this bit of vandalism. (I jest, of course. Apart from getting the timings wrong and thinking it was a lunchtime event, not ordering the Prosecco, telling Mum off for worrying, dishing up food that was mostly pork pies and sausages, serving the cake with a knife, sticking the candles right through the design... they were great).

The Socks did a short performance, with Hev on sound tech duties, Mum did a speech and a song, and a splendid time was had by all. Here, have some more photos.
