If A Pumpkin Could Camouflage - yet more kids comics + some flipcharts

The half term week of classes in libraries across the country continued with this assortment of comics, the titles suggested by kids, the covers drawn by me, in Comic Art Masterclasses from Wakefield to Woolwich, Greenwich to Rickmansworth.

What do you think, have I got into a bit of a rut with the flipcharts I've been drawing before my classes start? I should imagine the popularity of K Pop Demon Hunters will have waned by the end of term and I'll be back to struggling to find a familiar central character that they all immediately recognise. I can tell you Minnine The Minx is definitely not that character any more. Loads of kids have never heard of Beano.

I was in Airedale Library in the morning and Pontefract Library in the afternoon, but they all count as Wakefield. An almost four hour drive up in the morning, followed by an almost four hour drive down to Woolwich afterwards. The things I do, eh?

For these two classes, at Woolwich and Greenwich libraries, I took the gamble of organising the tickets myself. In the end we sold 16 in the morning and 9 in the afternoon, so I took a little less than I would at my usual daily rate. But then they bought books afterwards, so it's all swings and roundabouts.

Watersmeet Arts Centre in Rickmansworth was another doorsplit, but this time we had two sellouts, with 29 kids in each class at twenty quid a ticket. And ain't I mercenary? A fun week of classes, with a bumper amount of comics sold to parents too, a happy end to the month. (Update: After they'd taken a marketing deduction, and a percentage of my book sales - which no-one has ever done before, and which they played no part in by the way - my share of the £1200 that came in through the box office was less than if I'd charged my usual flat rate. I've been asked if I'll return. I shall be renegotiating the contract, which I clearly didn't read properly!)

The celebs these six groups chose to appear in my demonstration strip were Mr Beast (twice), Justin Bieber, Michael Jackson, George Washington and Tom Holland.
