MNDT - Work In Progress

Work has begun on The Midsummer Nights Dream Team. Progress up till now is in this earlier blog

Thursday July 2nd - Began doing pencil rough layouts on the 120 pages, which have their boxes and voice bubbles already laid out (EC Style, it's how I work). The first silent sequence, pages 1 - 15, drawn. Also double page spread of Cast laid out (above), though this will change when we have images of the cast from the book itself.

This book is destined to take longer than its predecessor because, by Thursday, I had already lined up three days of Comic Art Masterclasses on Zoom, with more potentially coming. So I may do some of that lovely lovely earning money, as well as the satisfying creative work.

Also on Thursday, I sent Prince of Denmark Street to the printers, and continued trying to upload it to Amazon. The Kindle version is up there already. But the paperback's been sent back to have the cover amended four times (not enough bleed, spine too deep), and at time of writing, Friday morning, I'm re-uploading the whole book cos they couldn't handle it mentioning Findlay Macbeth's ISBN number (on the page of other works by me, clearly this is not done).

Friday July 3rd - Pencil roughs up to page 33
Saturday July 4th - Roughs up to page 40
Sunday July 5th - Cover designed
Monday July 6th - Roughs up to page 49
(Tues day of Zoom classes)
Weds July 8th - Roughs up to page 58
Fri July 10th - Roughs up to page 68
(Sat Zoom class & long walk, Sunday Dean Friedman show)
Mon July 13th - Roughs up to page 77
Friday July 17th - Two feeble pages! Up to page 79 (after a day of Socks tech, a day of video classes for Waltham Forest, and two days wasted doing something else!)
Tuesday July 21st - Up to page 87 (after 2 days video editing and uploading for Waltham Forest, the Socks on Dean Friedman on Sunday, writing the Unbelievable Truth for the party on Saturday, and going to Bath for the day, the furthest we've travelled in 5 months. Excuses excuses!)
Weds July 22nd - Up to page 98. 11 pages, that's the most I've managed in a day since July 3rd. (And tomorrow it's all-day Comic Art Masterclasses).
Friday July 24th - Up to page 115. 17 pages done, and only 5 pages left to go!
Saturday July 25th - Finished! All 120 pages pencil-roughed.
Sunday July 26th - All 120 pages scanned into a PDF document which has been sent to Heather and Steve to give their script editor comments on. The next stage will be rewrites and artwork...

...all of which will be recorded in this next blog here.
