Fat Cows & Overweight Pigs - more comics by kids

A theme emerged in the comics produced by pupils at Olveston Primary in Gloucestershire, with portly farm animals being their subject of choice. And why not. From there, in the face of a supposed "Beast From The East", that is to say a threatened cold weather front, I drove from Gloucestershire to Ilford to stay overnight and watch snow fall on my car.

As it happened the snow amounted to nothing, and so I did my day of classes at John Bramston Primary in Hainault and made it home safely. Two comics by 4H, and a talk to the whole school in assembly? Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Wednesday afternoon's drive to Manchester went surprisingly well, though the snow was starting to fall quite seriously. Then, very luckily for me, the day at Manchester Academy ended early, at 1.30, so Hev & I were able to hit the road home two hours earlier than expected. It looks likely that, had we left those two hours later, we would have got stuck in the snow. The following morning's news was full of drivers on the M5 near Taunton who'd been stuck in their cars overnight. So, phew, and no more travelling needed till next week.

The celebrities these five groups chose to appear in my demonstration strip were Tom Jones, The Pope, Michael Jackson, Declan Donnelly and, most original of the week, author of Diary Of A Wimpy Kid Jeff Kinney.
