Is that a record taking from a one day con? I think it might be, except for those events where I've sold original art. I took the art portfolio with me this time, having made a note that, at this same venue in March, it looked like I would have sold some if I'd had it. Well I didn't, but I did very well with a combination of books, and caricatures at two quid each. Coincidentally, here in March, I sold exactly the same number of books (33), my takings being slightly higher because of the number of books that cost £10.99 as opposed to £7.99 (this is the interesting detail you tune in for, admit it). In March I noted that I'd sold out of a record-breaking 8 books. Today I sold out of (dah dah daaah!) 8 books. How spooky is that? (Memo to self: have more stock when you go to Bournemouth).

This was a record taking, nearly double what I took on the same day last year, all thanks to The Phoneix. They held their own parallel series of events in Bowness On Windermere, which sold out instantly, which has resulted in a massively increased number of families with kids coming into our Marketplace tent. I was positioned right by the door so I caught every one as they came in, and they bought my Richard The Third colour edition with such fury that I'd sold out by the start of the afternoon. I could have sold twice as many and, at time of typing this on Sunday morning, cannot imagine what I'll sell on day 2 with so much of my key stock depleted.

Don’t know where the Phoenix kids went, but they were thinner on the ground today, as were my most attractive books. But even without colour Richards, any Elains, and the final copies of another seven books that all sold out, I didn’t do too badly. But, yes, half the day before. Also a copy of MNDT had someone else’s books inside it! I shall be taking that up with D2D later
