★★★★★ "The unparalleled pinnacle of comedy puppetry" - review in Venue

This is, I think, the Socks' first review of 2013. Five stars for a show that is still "work in progress" is not a bad start.

John Christopher Wood writes (in an article reviewing five shows from the past weekend at Bath Comedy Festival):

The Scottish Falsetto Socks In Space at the same venue emphatically did not disappoint. If you’ve never seen the Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre, then you really, really must. This is the unparalleled pinnacle of comedy puppetry: it makes Punch and Judy look static –and this show is right up to its usual brilliance. The crazed fast-fire interactions between the two argumentative protagonists, (yes they are socks, yes they are Scottish, yes they are falsetto); the imaginative range of the subjects ripped the piss out of – the early history of horror films, David Bowie in old age, misunderstandings of the names of TV channels, and yes, space travel; the endless crazy costume changes; the sublimely silly songs; and a brilliantly-timed gag rate of approximately one a second make for a comedy experience so intense that you can run out of breath. Pure joy.

Thankyou John, thankyou Bath, and praise be to all that's good The Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre will be on in Bath again on Friday. If you've not booked your tickets yet, you really will have to this time by the look of it. And if that wasn't enough, the wonderful Andrew Richmond (@bathcomiccon) gave us this #sketchcard he'd drawn of us. Laminated and everything.
