Sellout!
Look at us, all over the Sold Out board at the Gilded Balloon. And with 104 in the audience that's officially our biggest Edinburgh Fringe audience ever (earlier rooms didn't have that capacity, though we sold out what they had a good few times). Let's hope it's not the last.
And what a show. After two nights (and a few previews) where I've been worried we had the right material but not necessarily in the right order, today I gave it all a thorough going over and finally made it work. Indeed the new Improv running gag worked so well we were running over tonight and had to lose lots towards the end of the show.
Tonight we lost the Ding Dong routine and the Rocket Man/ Gloria Gaynor song, but gained the new Improv material (which sets up some actual improv which then went really well). Whether the Improv works so well from now on, only time will tell. Like last week's Manchester preview, a sellout audience who were responsive to every idea, turned the show into a total winner. (There were, of course, no reviewers or Comedy Awards judges in tonight's crowd, so we can only hope such a good show turns into great word of mouth).
Today had three good stints of flyering, which seem to have paid off, and the weekend's shows look like requiring more of the same. The weather's lovely, so you never know I might come away with a tan to boot.
