Did I mention I was working on a new book?
The good news is I have a book coming out very soon. The even better news is its coming out sooner than I thought. The slightly confusing news is: that's because it's not the book I told you about earlier.
I mentioned I have Romeo and Juliet on my drawing board, and that's true, I do. But before that emerges, I have another project which is underway and coming later this summer.
Findlay Macbeth, my debut graphic novel from 2020, is undergoing an enhancement. It's having work done. I am, in short, colouring the pages, but in black and white.
If you've not come across Findlay Macbeth (and I know many people getting this email were its original Kickstarter supporters) it's Shakespeare with a twist, setting the bards tragedy in 1970s Scotland, mashing it up visually with Mike Leigh's play Abigail's Party.
The new half-toned artwork looks rather good to me, and I feel really adds gravitas and depth to the already fine pages of the book. You know who I'm jealous of? Anyone who's never read Findlay Macbeth before and is now going to get the chance to see it for the first time all in its new grey-depthed glory.
