(This was an interesting school to contrast with last week. Last week I had a school where I taught 120 kids over 2 days and they only bought 8 books between them. This school bought 11 books - and I only taught 14 pupils. Cos they only have 14 pupils! That's the sort of per capita rate I like to see.)
Mar 28 - Library of Birmingham - 3 books (£37)

(More disappointing sales there. I’m teaching 19 kids with their parents watching, they’ve got free tickets, I’m genuinely expecting every parent to buy books, and only two parents do. Sometimes you never can tell).

(I try the "standing outside the shop with my books on a table" schtick that I experimented with last summer. It works as well as it did then, which isn't bad, but the share that goes through the shop till lowers the profit margin. I was there from 11.30 to 2pm, so a little better than minimum wage).

D2D Sales: Happiness was clicking on my D2D sales (on Weds March 11th) to find that, overnight, I'd sold 15 copies of my most expensive book, the Shakespeare Omnibus, netting me over 40 dollars in royalties. I think that's more than I've made in any previous month on D2D. Not JK Rowling money, but an interesting and pleasant blip.
