A busy summer of Comic Art Masterclasses in libraries and art centres continues with these fine examples from Rickmansworth, Rochester, Chatham, Woolwich and Eltham. Seven groups squeezed into three days? How does he do it?
This marathon weekend of comic classes began on Friday at Watersmeet Arts in Rickmansworth, my second return visit, and the second time we've tried three classes in one day. This time we shuffled the timings, so they were at 10, 1, and 4, and that gave us quite a good turnout for all three sessions. Added to which they bought a very healthy number of books, for which many thanks.

Then Saturday saw a class in Rochester in the morning and Chatham in the afternoon. One slightly fuller than the other, both delightful.
If it's Monday it must be a class at Woolwich library in the morning, and Eltham library in the afternoon. These were ones where I handled the ticket sales myself and fell foul of some QR codes that didn't work, followed by some amended artwork that I got wrong so they still had the dud codes on. Both venues had these posters proudly displayed on the walls, both showing the codes that didn't work. A major cock up on my part that saw only 7 kids in the morning class and 9 in the afternoon. Though this was very much brightened up by the nearly £150 worth of books the parents bought afterwards.
The celebrities these seven groups chose to appear in my demonstration strip were young Michael Jackson, old scary evil Michael Jackson (twice), Mr Beast, Professor Alan Grant out of Jurassic Park (as played by the recently departed Sam Neill), Andy Burnham, and most original suggestion of the week Henry The Third.
