Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre – Minging Detectives 4**** - One4Review
one4review | On 17, Aug 2015
Along
with poor diet, bad weather, no sleep and too much drinking, the
Scottish Falsetto Sock Puppet Theatre have become one of the staples of
the Edinburgh Fringe. The main difference is that while the other things
are bad for you the Socks are definitely not.
The
maestro behind these guys is Kev F Sutherland who writes and performs
each show. This year’s offering is there has been a murrderr and the
socks are the guys to get to the bottom of it.
With
a mixture of tried and tested silliness, songs puns and inventive
links, even a running gag or two , the Socks take the guise of a variety
of TV and movie cops to move the story along. PC Dixon, The Sweeney
even Breaking Bad amongst others are featured. But they are not afraid
to improvise either taking audience suggestions along the way.
It
is an hour of guaranteed fun and laughter, especially if you ore of a
certain age. Maybe, just maybe, some of the reference points would have
been lost on the younger end of his audience. This said however it is as
always a hoot from start to finish.
