Clevedon School, which used of course to be my local, has had me back in for the second year running, doing Comic Art Masterclasses during the day, then caricaturing at their Prom events in the evening. Two days and two evenings. And as if that weren't hard-working enough for you (given that Clevedon's now at least a half hour drive for me and, in a couple of these journeys, was between 45 minutes and an hour away) they'd managed to squeeze three sessions into each day, rather than my usual two. Knackered's not the word. But look at the lovely results. (Sorry, the 300-odd caricatures I did across all those events will have to remain in your imagination).
Literally the smallest group I have ever worked with were brought together for my Thursday morning first session, so they got my undivided attention and this special cover drawn just for them. They must have enjoyed it, cos one of their mums emailed me afterwards full of praise.
The Pink Monkey Killer group was another cosy group of just eight, whose sessions were spread over two days - oh the joys of secondary schools' timetables. And Sassy Cody was the creation of a full class of Year 9s who were found for my at the last minute - they'd been expecting to do an art class with a cover teacher, and suddenly found me in their classroom. I think I was quite a welcome treat.
The celebrities these five groups chose to star in my demonstration strip were Donald Trump (making quite the comeback this year, it would seem), Tom Hiddleston, Ryan Reynolds, Tom Holland, and Ariana Grande.
